Mediation & Moderation

PROCESS, bootstrapped indirect effects, moderated mediation and clean interaction plots.

Teal glass distribution curve and small teal and brass spheres on an ivory platform.

Mediation asks how an effect happens; moderation asks when it is stronger or weaker. Both are routinely tested with methods that have been superseded — the Baron and Kenny causal-steps approach in particular.

We use bootstrapped confidence intervals for indirect effects, model the interaction correctly with centred predictors, and produce simple-slopes plots and Johnson-Neyman regions where they add something.

What you receive

  • PROCESS (or lavaan / SmartPLS) models fitted to your hypotheses
  • Bootstrapped indirect effects with bias-corrected intervals
  • Interaction plots and simple-slopes analysis
  • Conditional indirect effects for moderated mediation
  • Hypothesis-by-hypothesis results write-up
